Oh What a Night!

Wow what a day! I say that because it started at 6.45am for me! being a Musician of some 20 years, Im totally a nightbird…getting up at 645am is like the walking dead! so there I am in pyjamas craving a Cuppa, but my Avi is gussied up to the nines!

My old mate Poid had a case of nerves…..no she didn’t ..she wasn’t well poor dear.. and we missed her, get well Poid you old hag! so at the last min I was paired up with Rysan Fall, who of course I had heard of, as a wonderfull Machinima Creator and someone who was also being shown also at the Festival. We quickly exchanged notes and caught up with what I had planned to do with Poid..and off we went!

Rysan and I walked …(lagg walked into the Build..) and then I heard this sort of deep growl behind me, sort of like when someone plays an old vinyl record with Nat King Cole on it, at the wrong speed very slow! OMG it was his Voice!!! Rysan Fall eclipsed anything I said…or wore, with his deep resonating voice, I can see that after tonight he will be called upon for many voice overs (Wiz!!! watch out!) ..someone said Barry White, and yep thats about it.

Rysan was terrific! a lovely co-host and I thank him for jumping in so quickly with almost no preperation! you couldn’t tell at all. Someone commented he could read a shopping list and have all the ladies weak at the knees and I’ll 2nd that.

Ok enough swooning.

Thankyou Chantal Harvey for inviting me to exhibit and to be a host. The wealth of talent at this Festival is extraodinary. Really Really extraodinary. And I thank Chantal Harvey for thinking of us at Perfect World Productions a producer of weekly television shows, as being part of this festival.

Television in SL is not often thought of being Machinima, but of course it is, its filmed in a vitual world using all the same equipment and skill as any more Arty film is, in gaming or Virtual Reality.

Now… I just pull the strings and have overall visions, but its Treet.tv that do all the physical filming and editing. We showed Musician Dexter Ihnen’s appearance on Live n Kicking, as our entry in the Film Fest this year, because it was spectacular! It is an incredible example of Machinima done in real time with very very few edits in this case. Most of our shows go out without any editing at all. So Treet.tv has to be on the ball, and they are! 3 cameras filming! with them communicating with each other as they do it. Just like a Real Life TV Station.

Delinda Dyrssen however was the one, who as producer, pulled the entire thing together, and she really should have been up on stage with me, but we were restricted somewhat. But she was the one who did all the grunt work! with Dexter and his incredible team. Dexter Ihnen is amazing, really amazing, he is a total showman, and one of the few people in Second Life to really extend his Music show with an entire crew of helpers and effects. This guy is not just prepared just to let his music speak to us, he is exited to see what he can do on second life with the entire platform! On the day of filming Treet.tv just showed up and grabbed the action as they saw it! Wiz said afterwards it was one of the most exiting rides of his life! and for us it was too. Dexter laid it all on.

My job with our Music show Live n Kickin is basically quality control, I “ok” the sims we film at, and approve the artists. Delinda and now Cell and then AutumnFoxx do all the leg work and so do the artists, who, without them, we would have a very empty show. Del and AutumnFoxx whoo hoo what a team!

What talent we have to work with.

I loved presenting the other films too, it is really incredible to see what people are doing, its clear that there is all types of film makers in SL. Ones with a real life background in Film and some with none. How wonderfull that SL gives everyone a go! as we say over here.
